“...there are those who say that I have come to learn. Others say that I have come to enjoy. There is also talk of happiness, or of the meaning and purpose of life. Some explain it through thought and reflection as a fundamental movement in the search for direction... understanding, understanding what is worthwhile... and drawing closer to the truth and beauty which, when savoured, nurtures our spirit and our soul.

The truth...

The truth is that I have no idea. And sometimes it hurts me, but right now I have no choice but to accept it.

And the thing is, sometimes we don’t need to understand everything...

Don’t you find it more interesting to feel something, deeply, and to get goosebumps, and for a tear to fall, moved by the beauty that surrounds us and the poetry contained in the mystery of our existence... to be here, today, and enjoy it.

To enjoy it, from the profound ignorance that characterises us and creates that deafening emptiness... or from the wisdom of having accepted that we cannot know everything... and to enjoy the great mystery... and the vertigo caused by being an inseparable part of it, with more questions than answers. Who am I? What defines me? Who do I want to be?

CLOWNS AND POETS

Clowns and Poets is a dance and theatre piece commissioned by Mercè Mariné and premiered at the 18th edition of the MUSSART Festival.

This piece is the result of a creative process from the artistic residency at the Centre d’Arts Cal Massó. An introspective and expressionist journey which navigates between the beauty and cruelty of life, champions vulnerability, and reflects on art as a refuge for the soul.
