ATLAS

Piece created for the prestigious and highly acclaimed Stuttgart Ballet company, premiered on June 13, 2026, at the Schauspielhaus theatre in Stuttgart.

With the collaboration of guest dancers Yaiza Coll Suppert and Hélias Salvador Tur-Dorvault, Atlas explores the concepts of identity and existential purpose, revisiting the great philosophical questions and developing a stage language and visual approach that seeks to convey the most humanistic sincerity and sensitivity through surrealism and expressionism.

Who are we, beneath the names and forms we inhabit?

Inspired by the myth of Atlas, this piece unfolds not as the story of a single titan, but as a shared condition; an inheritance of burden passed through time. Among ignorance, bodies gather in quiet resistance. Each one carries a weight that cannot be seen, yet shapes every movement, every breath.

Here, the heavens are no longer held by one figure alone. They are dispersed, fragmented, resting upon all shoulders while drawing a landscape of unanswerable questions: Who am I really? What fragile truth, if any, anchors my existence?

In this suspended world, there is no final resolution, no moment of release. Only the quiet persistence of being, of holding, of searching, of loving, of enduring beneath a sky that may never lift, yet might hold a purpose for our dance.
